Hello. I’m Jonathan Pinnock and I keep bees. I can say this now, as I have been looking after them for over a year and I still seem to have a viable colony. (I’d advise checking back on this every now and then, however, just to see if the tense in that last sentence changes.)

This blog is the story of my journey as a novice beekeeper. It should not under any circumstances be used as a guide to beekeeping, because – as will soon become apparent – I am not very good at it. But I’d like to think I’m learning, and I hope you will all share the wonder, the triumphs and the tragedies as I find out more about the peculiar world of bees. And I’d better stop now before it gets even more pretentious.

If you want to start at the beginning, here’s where you need to go. Otherwise, dive in. The post tagging is a bit rubbish at the moment, but I’ll see if I can sort it out a bit over the winter.

Oh, and if you want to read more of my writing, please hop over to my main site. There’s LOADS of stuff there.
